Russia has officially approved a 30-day visa-free entry policy for several categories of Chinese travelers, marking a major step in strengthening the growing strategic ties between Moscow and Beijing. The decree, signed by President Vladimir Putin and published on Russia’s official legal portal, expands tourism, business, and cultural interaction between the two countries at a time when both nations are boosting diplomatic and economic cooperation.

Russia and China have accelerated people-to-people exchanges in recent years, aligning closely on geopolitical, economic, and security issues. Tourism and cross-border connectivity have become key priorities as both nations seek alternatives to Western markets. China, meanwhile, has already offered Russia a similar arrangement beginning September 2025, reflecting the growing symmetry and reciprocity in their bilateral agreements.
