Following the attack on National Guard soldiers, a complete security audit has been requested for green card holders from 19 nations.

Pakistanis who are in the process of or hope to come to the United States may face a “permanent pause” in immigration after a man of Afghan ancestry shot and killed a National Guard officer on Thursday.
In a social media tweet, Trump declared that the United States will suspend immigration from all “third-world” countries.
The head of US Citizenship and Immigration Services, Joseph Edlow, indicated on X that green card holders from 19 nations will be audited. Pakistan is not on the list, which includes Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Congo, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, Venezuela, and numerous African and Asian countries.
Trump’s statement was made on his social media platform shortly after Rahmanullah Laknawal, 29, allegedly fired rounds that killed 20-year-old Sarah Backstrom and gravely injured officer Andrew Wolfe.

President Trump claimed that during former President Joe Biden’s time, immigrants entered the country without sufficient screening. On the Truth Social platform, he stated: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the US system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen.”
In addition, all such non-citizens will lose federal benefits, and immigrants’ citizenship will be removed if they are deemed a threat to America. All people who “do not align with Western civilisation” would be deported, he said.
